Desperate and Lost

No, the title of this post doesn't describe me. It's just a reference to my favorite current t.v. shows: 'Desperate Housewifes' (DH) and 'Lost'. The second season just started this past weekend here in India ('Star World' Channel, Sundays at 10:00pm and 11:00pm).

In this first episode (called 'Next') of the 2nd season of DH, Lynette goes to a job interview. Nina, the interviewer says: "I see you have a 7 year gap since you last worked....a long break." Lynette replies: "I was a Stay At Home Mom, I would hardly call that a break!" What Nina doesn't know is the hard work that Lynette has been doing taking care of her baby girl...and THREE boys (including a set of hyperactive twins!).

She tries to make a good impression on Nina, who doesn't approve of anyone who takes time off to be with their kids. Lynette assures her it won't be a problem.
But then the day of her follow-up interview, Lynette's husband,Tom throws out his back and can't take care of the baby. Lynette tells him: "Being a SAHM is like being an ER doctor: there are NO days off". But Lynette is forced to take baby Penny to the interview. She manages to wow Nina's boss with her multitasking skills, changing the baby while pitching them ideas on how to take their agency to the next level. She's hired, although Nina is less than thrilled. You see why Lynette's my hero, don't ya?!

Definitivamente, Madre solo hay una, Thanks be to God! Esto no es lo mismo que: Madre, solo hay una!
