A letter from the city of Mumbai to the Terrorist

Re: Series of bombs in India's financial center, Mumbai, on July 11.

Dear Terrorist,

Even if you are not reading this we don't care.
Time and again you tried to disturb us and disrupt our life - killing innocent civilians by planting bombs in trains, buses and cars. You have tried hard to bring death and destruction, cause panic and fear and create communal disharmony but everytime you were disgustingly unsuccessful.

Do you know how we pass our life in Mumbai?

How much it takes for us to earn that single rupee?
If you wanted to give us a shock then we are sorry to say that you failed miserably in your ulterior motives. Better look elsewere, not here.

We are not Hindus and Muslims or Gujaratis and Marathis or Punjabis and Bengaliies. Nor do we distinguish ourselves as owners or workers, govt. employees or private employees. WE ARE MUMBAIKERS (Bombay-ites, if you like). We will not allow you to disrupt our life like this.
On the last few occassions when you struck (including the 7 deadly blasts in a single day killing over 250 people and injuring 500+ in
1993), we went to work next day in full strength. This time we cleared everything within a few hours and were back to normal - the vendors placing their next order, businessmen finalizing the next deals and the office workers rushing to catch the next train (Yes!, the same train you targetted.) Fathom this: Within 3 hours of the blasts, long queues of blood donating volunteers were seen outside various hospitals, where most of the injured were admitted. By 12 midnight, the hospital had to issue a notification that blood banks were full and they didn't require any more blood.

The next day, attendance at schools and offices was close to 100%, trains & buses were packed to the brim, the crowds were back. The city has simply dusted itself off and moved on - perhaps with greater vigour. We are Mumbaikers and we live like brothers in times like these.

So, do not dare to threaten us with your crackers. The spirit of Mumbai is very strong and can not be harmed.

With Love,
From the people of Mumbai (Bombay)

Hi MARI,

This is again a Moral giving experience of a Journalist in Pakistan ....

Title :THE INFIDEL

By : Ali D Shah, Journalist

Subject :America OH America!!!!

I was in a cab going on a long journey in Karachi. From North Nazimabad to Clifton. Traffic was heavy and I was sure this will take a long time. The driver was a man from the North. Long beard and constant chanting of various supplications, an angry face and a tough look. He was talking about how our society has become so un-Islamic and that Muslims were not really Muslims anymore.
He was talking about the corruption and the injustices we have. I agreed with most of what he was talking about until he started cursing Americans and how they should be destroyed and how they had caused so much damage to this world.
OK. Well, his opinion. That's all right. Everyone has a right to an opinion. I did show a slight discomfort to him deciding to destroy a whole nation that has a large number of Muslims in it also. I pointed that out to him. He said that well they should be killed also because they had chosen to go there! We talked. No he talked and I listened. He would answer his cell phone every now and then and say stuff in Pushto and then hang-up and continue cursing the Jews and the Christians and every other nation of this world.
He was really adamant on getting rid of the Americans. So I decided to help him out with his problem.
I told him you know what Khansab? Its really very simple to get rid of the Americans. It is not even an issue. He turned and looked at me probably thinking I was high on something. I smiled and told him that I was serious. It is very simple to remove America from our lives. Would he want to ? I asked. He was delighted.
Of course he said , who would not. So I told him that I will give him a list of things to do in order to remove America from his life and then live like the true Muslim that he was. I requested that he stop the car at a dhaba where we could have some tea and talk about this. He did.
It was a nice desi little dhaba and I knew the tea would be great. I was also looking forward to giving this fine Muslim the strategy of removing the American thing from his life so he can live a life free of KUFR!
So there we sat, having our tea and I started to give him the strategy. I asked him a few questions first. Do you have a bank account? Yes, he was happy to say, MCB is my bank. Is the cell phone yours? Yes, he replied once again. And is the cab something you got on lease or did you just buy it? He had bought it.
I told him that he has to get rid of the following immediately:
1. Go home, take out all the light Bulbs, Thomas Edison - an American had invented the light bulb.
2. Close his Bank Account: Banking Systems are from Jews. The first BANK was made by them.
3. Throw away his car - Henry Ford, an American Jewish man, had invented this thing.
4. Do not use the railway system, or the airplanes. Airplane was the invention of the Wright Brothers - two American guys.
5. Use nothing at all that was invented by the West.
6. Throw away his cell phone and cut off the telephone line at his house - Graham Bell invented this.
7. NO TV NO RADIO - All Western Christian inventions.
And after doing this, he had to check the origin of all things he used. All electrical items had to be thrown away - not invented by us. Electricity itself, is not our discovery. So he had to remove all this from his life. He then had to totally lose the idea of buying visas to go anywhere, since the whole concept of visas is not ours also.
After doing this and living like this for a year, I told him that he will have removed USA from his life for good. But before all this, I wanted proof that the USA had asked him to stop practicing his religion or asked him to be Christian or totally Godless. I also asked him how much English he could speak? He could not. So How did he know what the Americans say? Oh, its all translated. But then how does he know that the one translating all news items is not making it all up? Surely, he could not be 100% sure , right? He agreed.
So what, I asked, was the basis of his war against Americans? He did not know what to say. He accused me of defending the enemy. I told him, no Yaar Khansab, why would I want to defend them? All I am doing here, is giving you the strategy of getting rid of the USA. But, they are entering our holy lands day and night! They want the Petrol!
Oh, Gosh! But then, what is petrol? Where is it used? Will you feed it to your horses and donkeys? I mean, ages ago - when then Americans first discovered oil in Arabia - did the Bedouin even know what this is worth? Did the Bedouin even know what a car is and what is an airplane? It had been almost 1400 years since Islam had come to Arabia, and the Arabian was still on the camel. He did not know what the heck oil is to be very clear and honest here.
This enemy, the American, not only dug up the wells - but also taught the Bedouin how to benefit from it. The Bedouin used all this money and power to enhance the holy places and create more facility for the pilgrims that come every year in large numbers. In fact, this enemy even gave the technology to organize the whole thing - the whole country and YOUR country. And do you know what treatment your loving Arabian brother gives you when you go there to work while your enemy the American gives you the rights of a citizen in his country?
I told khansahab, that if he and his whole tribe could do all this that I had asked him to do, I would do it too. And yes, indeed - there would be no more USA in us. I also asked him to pull his kids out of all schools and colleges, since there they will learn the language of the enemy and so may get affected by their culture.
He had no more words for me. Silence. Yes - speechless now. All that energy drained. Staring at me.
No Khansab, you can not destroy the Earth because it stops your heart from believing in a God you never saw! You cannot destroy Alcohol because people drink. You cannot kill women because they tempt. You can only decide what YOU will do and not do. Your frustration is a result of your ignorance.
Your ignorance is a result of ego. Your ego is the result of your failure to achieve things. The fault does not reside in America, it lies in YOU. So when you can fix yourself, America will fix itself. What you see around you is the reflection of what is in your heart. I do not say that, the Quran says that. God never said you could kill the devil, the devil never said he will kill you - The devil said he will tempt you and God told you to be careful.
On the day of judgment, says the Holy Quran, man will stand there and blame the devil while the devil will say : NO, blame yourself. I merely tempted you, you gave in. Apart from this, I had no force on you. Go to HELL for what YOU chose!
Khansab, True Muslims do not blame others - they remain humble and love humanity and they fight injustice. So is the American the infidel or is it you? He agreed he was wrong. I came to my apartment at Clifton and two days later left Pakistan back to here where I live.
Today, that taxi driver works as a security guard at a residential compound. He speaks a little English and a little Arabic - his beard is well trimmed and he wears a nice uniform. He is a better person, a better Muslim and he has many American friends who are totally impressed by the wonderful tales he tells of beautiful mountain lands and old cultures and their beauty.
Who are we fighting? And what are we fighting for? Sad!
