Happy 'Thirtieth-Month', Fabi! / Happy Birthday, Ishan!

A few days ago, Fabi turned 30 months old and Ishan turned 35 years old! Just like last year, we celebrated MasalaDad's birthday at a distance, but we hope that celebrating in different continents doesn't become a tradition.

In this unexpected visit to Costa Rica, everybody keeps saying how tall and grown up Fabi is. He keeps hearing the word guapo (handsome) all the time. He's quite talkative now and uses mostly Spanish. However, I have heard him count in English when he's playing by himself. Maybe it's the way he's remembering his Daddy, because they were counting together during the train ride from Erlangen to Frankfurt airport.

Unlike in Erlangen, Fabi has access to t.v. here in Costa Rica. He asks for his "Discovery Kids" channel whenever he gets the chance.

He has learned to give a "friend's hug" (abrazo de amigo) and points to buses, taxis and motorcycles when he goes out. He wakes up and starts calling out for his grandpa and uncles: "Abuelo!", "Alo!", "A'nando!" (Fernando)

September is the patriotic month in Costa Rica and Fabi loves to take his Costa Rican flag with him whenever he goes out.

Fabi loves to dance and clown around. We're all hoping his Abuela Olga comes out of the hospital really soon, so they can enjoy each other's company.

September 26th was not only Ishan's birthday. Our friend Vivek Bhandari also celebrated his birthday and our family welcomed my cousin Catalina's second baby boy, David José. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
