Hurdles galore

A whole week without Internet at home and I still had to wait two more days to have a chance to update my blog. There's so much to do around here, it's unbelievable! I'm really glad I came home to help out.

Eventhough reports show that the nasty bacteria is no longer in my Mom's system, only my Dad and one of my brothers have continued to go see her at the hospital. We're waiting for a few more days to see what the progress is before I show up to see her again.

My Mom's wound is still healing (she's still attached to the VAC machine), her creatinine level is still a little higher than the normal 1.0 mg/dL (but it was REALLY high before, so there's improvement there) and her hemoglobin count is 7 g/dl (instead of the normal 12.0 g/dl), which translates into anemia. She needed a blood transfusion.

The hospital routine can be exhausting. We're all tired of this, but we're very thankful to God for slowly healing my Mom and to all our family and friends who are still praying that she comes back home soon.


Toda una semana sin conexión de Internet desde mi casa y aún así tuve que esperar un par de días más para poder actualizar mi blog. ¡Es increíble todo lo que hay por hacer aquí! Estoy muy contenta de haber venido a mi casa a ayudar.

Aunque los reportes muestran que la horrible bacteria ya no está en el organismo de mi Mamá, sólo mi Papá y uno de mis hermanos la continúan visitando en el hospital. Estamos esperando unos días más para ver el progreso antes de que yo la vuelva a ir a ver otra vez.

La herida de mi Mamá aún está sanando (todavía está bajo el tratamiento VAC), su nivel de creatinina es un poco más alto de lo normal que es 1.0 mg/dL (pero antes estaba ALTISIMO, así que ha habido progreso) y su hemoglobina está en 7 g/dl ( en vez de 12 g/dl), lo que significa que tiene anemia. Ayer ella necesitó una trasfusión de sangre.

La rutina de hospital es agotadora. Todos estamos cansados de esto, pero estamos muy agradecidos con Dios por sanar a mi Mamá, y agradecidos con toda nuestra familia y amistades quienes continúan rezando por el pronto regreso de mi Mamá a su casa.
